But, first a little about Leta…
A lifetime entrepreneur, she comes from a family where everyone is a solo-preneur, so it’s in her DNA. Leta’s dad was a rancher and farmer, and her mom, a very successful marketer, was featured in Reader’s Digest, Saturday Evening Post, and other major magazines of the day with one of her key products. Together, they took big risks, overcame some incredible challenges, and taught Leta the business principles of hard work and integrity. Her dad modeled a successful midlife career change when he sold the ranch at age 52 and went into real estate investing and development. Leta’s grateful for growing up with an environment of possibilities.
In her twenties she started two different businesses that reached 6 figures. In the late 1970’s she was traveling abroad, buying exotic handbags and accessories, and importing them into the US. As a young entrepreneur she learned the importance of building global networks, and experienced business independence and success early in her life.
At 33 Leta took time off to focus on raising 3 kids while her husband traveled in his career. However, being the independent women so many in this generation were, she pursued new passions like home-schooling, political activism, volunteering, gardening, and building relationships and networking with other active women her age.
At 45 she started a home business and within two years had a successful network marketing business generating over $100,000 monthly in team sales and a full time income. 12 years later, and a move to Australia with her husband, opened the door to travel after years of putting family first. But, it also created a new challenge…how to support a business from abroad.
Leta was beginning to see a trend of network marketers using the internet to attract new clients. The “merging” of two powerful marketing forces…the internet and network marketing created a new breed of marketers who realized people followed people, not just companies and products. Social media opened up a new way of attracting those people and building relationships, and even though there was a huge learning curve…especially for a “seasoned” boomer woman like Leta… it gave her a new vision.
As a Prime Time woman, with an insatiable desire to overcome challenges, she eagerly learned the DIY skills of Web 2.0 and social media and “reinvented” her life after 50 to accommodate the changing times and circumstances!
And she rediscovered her passion!
After seeing so many women looking for ways to make a career change…to become an entrepreneur, and create something profitable while making a difference in their world, she became The Business Launcher, helping women Define their Passion, Design their Plan, and Deliver more Profits.
Now she lives and works around the world as an international speaker, coach, and mentor. She shares her time between two offices and homes, both in Portland, OR and Sydney, Australia.
